how the work gets made
A Plattipus production starts with a director and a story, not a shot list. We develop the idea, design the sequences, and build the schedule around what the film actually needs: the locations worth travelling for, the unit size the work justifies, the two or three days that decide whether it lands. Pre-production is where most of the craft happens. The shoot is where it gets protected.
On the floor we run conventional discipline, continuity, coverage, and a supervisor watching the frames that will be hardest to finish. Where our in-house tooling changes the work is iteration. Our directors use AI systems we build ourselves to explore previsualisation, blocking, and look development at a rate a traditional boards-and-animatic pass cannot reach, moving through dozens of versions of a sequence in the time a single pass used to take. Every option is authored, judged, and selected by a person. Nothing reaches the cut because a model produced it.
Finishing sits under the same roof as the shoot. We conform, grade in an ACES-managed colour pipeline, and deliver 4K DCI cinema masters alongside the broadcast, streaming, and social versions a modern campaign actually ships. One grade, many destinations, no quality drift between them.
